I have been teaching full-time since 1993.I truly love the profession I chose, welcoming riders from all backgrounds.
I am someone who is passionate about teaching and loves to advance in their own learning.
I strived to accomplish my multiple certifications, starting at the young age of 17 through the B.H.S ( British horse society ) while growing up in my homeland Ireland, and then moving on to work in Switzerland with an Olympic rider.
In 1996 I moved to the USA, I began the goal of achieving my A.I.R.C.P (American instructors riding certificate program) in 1998 receiving my certificate level 2 in Dressage and Hunt seat.
My career in the USA started off working with off the track thoroughbreds at a hunter jumper facility.
My position included teaching and training and showing most weekends.
I soon began freelancing as a independent instructor teaching jumping and dressage at many premier facilities around West Michigan, this is where I began to network and create many long-lasting friendships in this area and industry, along with teaching clinics all over the state.
I continue to be very supportive and involved with our local showing circuits, the All dressage association since 2001, also with the Glass Ed and MDA and USDF.
I have also attended the complete USDF L judges program.
I enjoy helping clients to purchase and import horses from Europe to Michigan.
My career highlights have been working for an Olympic Show jumper as barn manager and headrider at the Reithalle Steinlera in Switzerland, and successfully managing a private Friesian breeding and training farm in West Michigan.
I have sold horses successfully all over the country, as far as Puerto Rico assisting in the entire process.
I have wealth of knowledge and experience with "Olympic level" horse care and stable management.
I am certified to instruct riders to advanced level.
I have an extensive background in dressage and jumping and starting young horses.
I enjoy working with some of the world's best clinicians, riding under their instruction and auditing many workshops and clinics.
I offer a fun safe, relaxed, inspiring environment for advancing the horse and rider confidently.
My lessons are inspiring and hands-on, and are packed full of great information and lots of takeaway exercises .
Along with having a wealth of knowledge in teaching, I love developing young horses.
I have great clients that provide amazing sport horses, and as a result we accomplished many national awards through the years on those prospects.
Since 1996 I have been a part of West Michigan.
I have a large network of close friends in this industry and have enjoyed putting down roots in the equine business here.
